Taylor is changing fast. Samsung’s $37 billion semiconductor plant just southwest of town is beginning operations in 2026, and construction of a second fab is set to start at the end of 2026. Thousands of workers are expected on site during equipment installation, and FM 973 is being widened to six lanes. Taylor is also only nine miles east of Hutto and about 29 miles northeast of Austin, which brings in new residents of its own.
