For those of you who have a few more years until you hear that phrase –
Summer is Almost Here!!!
Final exams are stressful enough. What about the craziness of coming back to campus in the fall? Don’t make packing up your dorm room, fighting to fit everything into your car, throwing items you love away in the dumpster because you have nowhere to put them, and the road trips more stressful. Consider renting a storage unit to keep your items right around the corner. A storage unit is a great cost-effective way to store all your dorm room essentials and apartment furniture.
What size storage unit is ideal for students?
- 5’ x 5’ – Think a medium closet-sized. Think chairs, small desks, small bookcases, mini-refrigerators, and lamps. A great option for just dorm room items.
- 10’ x 10’ – Think about 1/3rd of an average-sized dorm room. Ideal for storing items from a one- or two-bedroom apartment. A wide door, tall ceilings, and drive-up access make it easy to load in your couch and mattresses.
- 10’ x 20’ – Think a small one-car garage sized. Big units for the whole house with appliances, couches, mattresses, and boxes. Great size for sharing with friends.
- Engineering or Math major? Most of our storage units are about eight feet high. To get an idea of the cubic footage, multiply the unit dimensions by eight (e.g., 5′ x 5′ x 8′ = 200 cubic feet). Visual learner? Check out our online storage calculator too. But remember, actual unit sizes can vary, so this is just a general guideline.
What will it cost?
On average, our storage units run from $30 to $149 per month. We have an easy month-to-month contract that you can cancel at any time with 10-day advance notice.
What about security?
Leaving some valuables behind? We have a rental insurance partner who can give you extra peace of mind starting at $9 per month. If anything should happen while you are away you are covered. Have questions about the insurance policy? Contact them directly at 888-223-3726. Additionally, most of our locations are well lit, have perimeter fences, enhanced security gates with activity monitoring, and weekly lock checks.
